The self-retaining Lone Star Retractor System is a completely flexible comprehensive system for shallow soft tissue retraction. Composed of retractor rings and elastic stays the system provides optimal exposure and access to the surgical site. It also has the ability to rapidly adapt to changes in the field as the procedure progresses, with minimal effort and no additional personnel.
The secret of the system is counter traction created with the elastic stays. Used to retract tissue in opposing quadrants, the stay hook is placed into tissue and inserted into slots on the ring to achieve the desired exposure.
