Facilities Manager
Reporting to: Director of Operations
Position Summary
Provide technical services and support to the Trumbull facilities, maintaining an overall plan to execute on preventative and emergency actions. Establish goals for managing expenses and cost associated with facilities in an effort to provide the highest level of service to our employees. Address minor and major facility problems, ensuring optimum service. In addition, must be able to maintain a proper balance between operations and building management support.
Essential Functions:
· Provide site coverage for all aspects of maintenance requirements, including partnering with key suppliers and contractors to ensure building maintenance meets budgeted performance.
· Develop schedules for all mechanical operational equipment and process control assets. Ensure that processes and procedures comply with FDA, OSHA, ISO, corporate, state and local regulations.
· Provide immediate service during emergency periods, as required, which may include 24/7/365 coverage.
· Identify and resolve chronic and major issues that are affecting building environmental conditions or operation, especially when resolutions of such issues require technical solutions.
· Confirm all third party contract work meets written agreement/statement of Work.
· Coordinate external resources in concert with CooperSurgical’s SOP’s in the most timely, cost effective and efficient manner.
· Investigate building complaints and provide resolution.
· Identify and manage cost improvement activities by developing an effective method of cost analysis.
· Provide leadership in Project Management through technical support to ensure effective cost controls.
· Analyze energy, water & HVAC consumptions for efficient utilization.
· Trend & evaluate true facility allocations and costs on an annual basis.
· Facilitate problem solving utilizing a hands-on approach and effective management of resources.
· Responsible for any environmental filing, testing and disposal of hazards waste as defined by Local, State & Federal laws.
a. Is responsible for addressing safety issues and helps maintain OSHA compliance in all facilities including procedures & training such as Lockout/Tag out, First responder, material storage & handling, etc.
· Perform additional duties and assignments as directed by management.
Qualifications:
· Technical and industrial experience in the field of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering.
· Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
· Competency in project management.
· Knowledge in OSHA, ISO and FDA policies & procedures.
· Experience with Local and State Building Codes
· Ability to communicate well, both orally and written
· Engineering degree or a minimum of 4 years experience in facility management.
· A proven track record of cost reduction and work simplification
· Creative individual who is able to communicate and coordinate good ideas through to implementation
· In-depth understanding of equipment, mechanics and application
· Thorough understanding of medical device manufacturing, especially as it relates to FDA (GMP) manufacturing requirements
· Thorough knowledge and understanding of the CooperSurgical quality system.
· Passing of background check which may include verification of prior employment, criminal conviction, history, educational and driving records.
